HRT
Hormone Replacement Therapy as a result of falling oestrogen levels around and
after the menopause. It is prescribed to women with symptoms such as hot
flushes and vaginal dryness or where there is a risk of osteoporosis. It can be
given as tablets or a skin patch together with progesterone to protect the
endometrium. Testosterone is given to men if they have symptoms of testosterone
deficiency

Hystero-salpingography. An out-patient test (X-ray test) used to check whether
fallopian tubes are open.
HycoSy
Hysterocontrastsonography. An out-patient tubal ultrasound test used to check
whether the fallopian tubes are open.

Hydatidiform mole
A collection of fluid filled sacs that result from swelling of placental tissue
leading to the death of the embryo. A malignant condition called
Choriocarcinoma may rarely develop up to two years after its removal.
